CBR Staff Writer Published 17 April 2009

Will it be able to reduce the lag time between business intent and service delivery?

HealthNow New York said that it is using Pegasystems to optimize its claims management process and hold down premium rate increases.

By upgrading to Pegasystems's latest Build for Change technology, the New York health insurer will enable its business users to capture and drive business improvement ideas and goals.

Pegasystems said that this initiative reduces the lag time between business intent and service delivery. HealthNow is now able to enhance the speed and responsiveness of new productivity improvement ideas, ensuring benefits to end users, including members, physicians and regulators.

According to Pegasystems, the deployment of its latest Build for Change technology across three claims related applications is expected to take less than five months, and is intended to improve service delivery, decrease administrative costs and minimize manual coding.

Furthermore Pegasystems said that, HealthNow is utilizing multiple its healthcare service frameworks to jumpstart these initiatives. Pegasystems business process management (BPM) service frameworks are pre-configured to enable users to get new BPM solutions up and running to drive business transformation.

Paul Stoddard, vice president and chief information officer of HealthNow, said: The deployment of the Pegasystems's healthcare service frameworks for claims repair and management will allow us to accelerate innovation, drive good productivity and ensure that our customers receive better service.
