Fujitsu releases new operations management service in US

CBR Staff Writer Published 17 February 2012

AppRegion provides a per-tenant view of operating conditions

Fujitsu System Solutions has released "AppRegion" in the US. The new operations management service provides management functions for systems running on Windows Azure, a Microsoft cloud platform, and ensures operations support.

AppRegion offers Tenant Management, Application Auto Allocation, Multi-operator system management, Automated Backup and Autoscale for SaaS operations or applications management along with Windows Azure's management capabilities.

Fujitsu's new release manages services by registering end users as tenants and allocating space and a dashboard provides a per-tenant view of operating conditions.
AppRegion registers application modules in advance to allocate and provide applications automatically.

The new operations management service offers a multi-operator control for system operation management and control of multiple Windows Azure subscriptions, an operations automation function by scheduler and an autoscaling function.

AppRegion also has an E-mail notification function, which adds to the efficiency of system operations.

Microsoft ISV partners general manager Kim Akers said Fujitsu System Solutions's use of SQL Azure to develop AppRegion demonstrates the benefits customers can derive from the extensibility of Windows Azure, while simultaneously giving customers new tools for managing Windows Azure environments.
