Amazon has issued an update for its Kindle app to fix a glitch which reportedly deletes e-books from Apple devices.
Amazon issued a warning earlier to iOS users not to download the 3.6.1 update of its Kindle app, saying there is a flaw in the app which could delete entire e-book libraries from devices.
"There is a known issue with this update. If you are an existing Kindle for iOS user, we recommend you do not install this update at this time," the company said.
An Amazon spokeswoman told CNET that the company had identified the app issue.
The spokeswoman advised that to register again, users had to enter their Amazon account e-mail address and password which will make all the content available in the cloud.
The company claims that it has submitted the new update, 3.6.2, with a fix for the issue and isworking with Apple to release it.
Amazon says the updated app includes a "fix for registration issues" and "various bug fixes and security fixes."
